| April 2008 Friday 4/11 - 1/2 day for students and professional day for teachers. TCAP week 14th through 18th . The children need plenty of rest. Punctuality and attendance is very, very important!! Preschool screening 16th through 18th at the LaFollette recreation center. Mrs. Jamie Wheeler (Principal Jacksboro Middle School) will be here at 9:00 to talk to the fifth graders about next year and what to expect. Cheerleading Tryouts 21st through 25th with the final qualifying date being Friday April 25th. This includes grades 3 and 4. See Mrs. Torres for details. Cap and Gown pictures for fifth graders will take place on April 22nd. The Science and Math magician "The Great Sturarti" will be here on the 24th at 9:00. Admission will be $1.00. April 25th No school for students and professional development for teachers. School released at 11:30. Saturday April 26- Mr. Ray to run in Dogwood 5K in Knoxville, Student Teacher Ben Foust boxing match at CCHS, old time pictures in gym (See Kim Wedbie). April 28- Kindergarten registration begins. April 29- "Save Your Money" program by First Volunteer Bank. Bank representatives will teach the children about money management and savings. JACKSBORO ELEMENTARY GOLF PROGRAM WILL START APRIL 29 3:00-4:30. REGISTRATION PAPERS WILL BE SENT HOME SOON. April 30- Last date children will be turned in for truancy. May 2008 May 1st - Kindergarten through 2nd grade May Day festivities. May 2nd-Third grade through Fifth grade May Day festivities. May 6th- Elementary Golf program to begin. See Mr. Ray for details. May 9th- Jacksboro Middle School Band to perform at 8:30. End of kindergarten registration. RELAY FOR LIFE event at CCHS. May 10th- Flag Football tournament at LMS. May 15th- JES students (Ms Pierce's class) to compete in the 4H Cloverbowl State Championship hosted by the University of Tennessee. Congratulations to these students for winning the Campbell County Championship.... May 16th - Fifth Grade graduation. May 19th - Kindergarten graduation. May 22nd - No School for students/ PD day for teachers May 23rd - Abbreviated day for students - last day of school. |
